Men, what's in your Devotion time?

When do you have “quiet time”? What are you reading? Obviously it should be comprised of reading the Bible and praying, but where is the meditation? Where is the time that you spend digging into the Word and researching the culture and Greek/Hebrew words that make up the very Bible that you are pondering over? Do you ever spend that time? When was the last time you read/heard a "devotion"?

I have a solution. What if there was a Bible that already had those studies sprinkled into it? What if your devotions and Bible reading were mixed into one easy-to-carry book that was in an easy translation?

The answer is found in the Crossway ESV Men’s Devotional Bible. The goal of the Bible is to strengthen and encourage men through the life-giving Word of God and sound devotional content aimed at nurturing godliness. With 365 theologically rich and gospel-centered devotions drawn directly from the Bible, this all-new resource was created under the editorial oversight of Dr. Sam Storms with contributions from over fifty Christian leaders. Introductions orient men to each book of the Bible, exploring its unique contribution to a man's walk with God. Thoughtful and instructive articles address the importance of sound doctrine, life in the local church, leadership, the heart, calling, and a host of other relevant issues for today. The Men's Devotional Bible will strengthen anyone in their walk with Christ, helping them apply the gospel and the truths of God's Word in their homes, churches, and workplaces.

Personally the ESV Men’s Devotional Bible has been a great resource and a fabulous motivation to revitalize or re-amp my quiet time in the morning. It has become a great Bible to carry with me to Bible Studies or Sunday school; the footnotes and devotions/introductions are a good way to give insight to a chapter that the pastor/leader is teaching about. In this day and age where technology has replaced a majority of our reading lives; this book should be a resource in your physical library.
